52 Mondays came to me in a fit of New years resolution fury. It seems I am always starting my "diet" or exercise plan on "Monday"! Well lots of "Mondays" have come and gone and my butt and thighs are still as thick as a Chick-filet shake (you know what I'm talking about!!) That is when I thought OK there are 52 Mondays in year...52 is a doable number of making small changing in my life that will hopefully change to number on the scale in a downward fashion. Come join us on the journey of 52 Mondays to getting our butt, thighs and almost everything else that shake and moves a little smaller. If want to be a contributor (and you know you do) just leave a comment and I will add you to the list of contributors! This is a blog were we can share our successes and failures on the hard journey of weight loss and just plain physical wellness.

Hi, My name is Dani, and I'm a chubby....

So tonight is a night not unlike many other nights I have had in the past 10 years of struggling with my weight. I saw a picture of myself from this last weekend and had to do a double take, and not in a good way. You know how we can kind of convince ourselves that sure we have gained some weight but it's not that bad, but then you have picture proof of what you really look like and it's like...oh crap... I'm fat. So tonight I am doing what I have attempted to do on and off for the past 2 years and finally get off this baby weight. Yeah, she's 2 and so I guess it's not really baby weight as much as it is lazy weight. Needless to say I am going to attempt to lose some weight. My real life happy goal is to lose 30 lbs by the middle of April and then another 15-20 lbs by Summer. I am a fan of the weight watchers program and have had the best luck with them as long as I stick with the program. I will post weekly on my weight but will only put what I lose or if necessary gained. I want this blog to be a spot were we can all post our tips, and tricks, recipes, progress and any stumbling blocks we run into and hopefully be supportive of each other. So I am asking that every ones first post be there goal. It doesn't have to be a weight loss goal, it could be that you want to exercise more, or fit into a different size, or just feel better. What ever it is post it and tell us a little about your story. Here's to smaller thighs!!!!

  2. I would also love to join. I'd like my goal to lose the "baby weight" by the time my baby is one, but since I only have three months to lose 30 lbs I think a more realistic goal is 5 lbs a month until it is gone. This may be a helpful tip. Walgreens has Alli on sale this week 38.99 for the 90 ct. with a 9$ register rewards in return which makes it like 28.99. They have the 120 ct. on sale for 59.99 with a 10$ register rewards making it like 49.99 plus there was a coupon for 10$ off in last weeks newspaper coupons. If you could track that down or find another one elsewhere you can save even more (I don't think it is good on the 90ct. though).

  3. I am in!! My goal is to also loose 30 pounds by April. Then another 20-30 lbs by August. I would also like to run a half marathon this year. And the kids and I are planning on doing a sprint triathalon in March. We joined a gym a couple weeks ago. So I am also committing to working out atleast 4-6 times a week.

  4. Dani, I would love to join too. I have put on a few extra pounds over the holidays and would love to lose that plus an extra 10-15 pounds. I want to have more energy, so I can be a better mom and wife. Plus I just want to look good for myself and my husband.

  5. Dani, I am in! If the other ladies don't mind and old lady. As you know your Dad and I have been working hard at this since July (when we joined the Clearfield Aquatic Center). Dad has lost 55 lbs, and the muscles are growing weekly. I have lost 40 lbs (but gained about 5 over Christmas, can't pass up the good stuff, life goes on and we have to enjoy it from time to time). My goal is to lose another 20 lbs (plus the 5 I gained) by my Birthday (early April), and another 20 lbs by my anniversary in July. To continue to exercise 5-6 times a week, and to be down to my goal by my 40th anniversary in 2011.

  6. I am starting to get over being sick, and it is showing on the scale. I have gained about 5 lbs over the past three weeks, I am already starting off fatter than ever, so Kelly and I figured it out and if I keep up this rate of gain I will weigh as much as Kelly by the end of this pregnancy. Picture 165 lbs on a 5'2'' frame, not pretty. So I am in. My goal is to excersize everyday, and control the calories. I am hoping to keep my weight under 150, that gives me 20lbs and 22 weeks. I don't know if I can do it, but this support might help. Thanks, Candi

  7. I'm in, too. I am so proud of all you for taking on this decision. We owe it to ourselves and to each other to keep healthy. Especially as Nana and I continue to AGE, we need to do everything we can to be healthy. I'm new at this blog thing, so I made an earlier post, but I'm not sure where it ended up. If I continue to have problems I will have Erik explain it to me, if I can get him to stop telling me about all the dinosaurs. Love you all!!!

  8. Hey, i want in. i am already off to a tough start this year, though. so i am hoping this will help keep me focused. my friend was buried the first monday of this year and there is a lot of drama in my life surrounding that. then i sprain my ankle tuesday and will be in recovery for 6 weeks. i have 80 baby lbs to take off and i am hoping to get prego again this year before i turn 35. so my goal is to make lifestyle changes this year. all the lbs may or may not come off but if i could just get to a point where i am not using food as comfort and i am making better food choices, that would be a great first step! Good Luck to everyone! thanks Dani for starting this!
