52 Mondays came to me in a fit of New years resolution fury. It seems I am always starting my "diet" or exercise plan on "Monday"! Well lots of "Mondays" have come and gone and my butt and thighs are still as thick as a Chick-filet shake (you know what I'm talking about!!) That is when I thought OK there are 52 Mondays in year...52 is a doable number of making small changing in my life that will hopefully change to number on the scale in a downward fashion. Come join us on the journey of 52 Mondays to getting our butt, thighs and almost everything else that shake and moves a little smaller. If want to be a contributor (and you know you do) just leave a comment and I will add you to the list of contributors! This is a blog were we can share our successes and failures on the hard journey of weight loss and just plain physical wellness.

Week 10........

Ok so another week has come and gone. The next two weeks are going to be crazy busy but hopefully we will survive. Tom got called to go to Dallas with his work for Tues-Friday of this week and then again Mon-Thurs of next week. This should make for an interesting couple of weeks. It will all work out though. I am down another 1.5lbs this week which is more of less a miracle considering that we spent the whole weekend snarf snarfing (thundercats hooooooh!!!) I am hoping to lose another 1.5lbs this week and try and exercise. Total weight loss 16lbs.

Mmmmm...........Gyros.....

I am hungry and craving a gyro. Yes,this evil creation that led to the 40lb weight gain during my pregnancy with Riley. I have yet to find a good greek joint in the area so that helps but I do have to go to Costco today and there is a new greek joint on the way that is screaming my name. But I won't do it...I will resist and try and be content with a ham sandwhich or something as equally boring. But I really want a gyro....

Week 8 and 9................................................

So I am wondering if anyone is out there? I am assuming that we are all super busy since I have been only posting every two weeks. I am down another 3 lbs so that is great. Grand total is 14.5lbs in 9 weeks. I wish it was closer to 18lbs. But I am averaging a little over 1.5 lbs a week so that is good...baby steps right? I am hoping to push it into high gear and hit another 10lbs by the time we go one our cruise. We have 40 days until we embark so I am going to have to work hard. I have not been exercising as often as I should be but I have noticed that it has been easier watching what I am eating. This weekend was actually really good and I wasn't finding myself just snarfing everything in site. I have finally noticed in some of my clothes that they are fitting better. I have noticed the most weight lost in my tummy area. So my goals for this week are stay on plan, and get in atleast 3 days of exercise. I am working a weird schedule this week (mon. tues. wed.) So I will have a nice long weekend to get in some workouts. I will try and post an update mid week and then post on Monday (no more of these week long lapses). Until then....

Drum roll please.....................

So as of this morning I am down 11.5lbs. Yipee. Of course I wish it was double that but I will take that. I am hoping to lose about that much more before the cruise. Only time will tell!

Week 6 and 7

It seems we have the never ending sickness at my home. I am not sick but both kids are(which means I get to sit and hold them), now Chris is coming down with the flu. I think I got one day of running in last week, and 2 days the week before. As usual my weight has not changed.

The loss prevention lady Liz ,was on the Rachel Ray show friday. She had really good tips on, choosing snacks at the movies and mall food court. If any is interested you can find the clip on rachelrayshow.com

Week 6 and 7......

Ok, so it seems I am not the only one whose life has been so busy that I haven't taken the time to post. The past two weeks have actually been good, I have upped my exercise and have had more control of my snacking. My scaled keeps reading "LO" which I assume applies to the batteries and not my weight, but a girl can hope! I am planning on going to the store tonight and getting a new battery so I will post later on that. As most of you know Tom and I are going on a cruise in a short 55 days. Needless to say the hard fact that I need to be in a bathing suit in the near future is motivating. So my goals for this week to exercise (3 days cardio, 3 days pilates) and stay on points.
I will post my weight later tonight or early tomorrow.

Embarrassing but true

I am so embarrassed by my failures this month that I have put off posting. By the end of this month I will have baked 48 cup cakes, two 9 x 13 pans of brownies, and three cakes not to mention the ice cream to go along with the cakes and about a pound of chocolate given to me on Valentines day. I am also no longer on as strict of a diet since Kiera did not test allergic to milk. I have been making up for all the things I gave up like pizza. Yes, I had two big slices of the Pie pizza on Wednesday and lunch that day was an angus mushroom swiss burger, fries and Dr. pepper from Mcdonalds. It is no surprise I have gained back all of the weight I lost and I have decided to give up on February all together and start over in March. I guess I will have to hit it hard in March to make up for my February failures. I am going to have my own kind of March Madness.

WEEK 5

Believe it or not. After a week of all play no excersize and very cruddy eating. I have not lost or gained.

Week 4 and 5....

Well it has been a crazy couple of weeks. When I weighed myself on last Tuesday (after the move) I was down a total of 9.5 lbs. Today I willed myself back on the scale and was up 2 lbs from that....yeah crappy. It was a awesome week with Krystal but while the visit was good for the soul it was horrible on the thighs. I am trying not to get too discouraged and to realize that with a move and a week long "staycation" this was bound to happen. I am back on the wagon today and will hopefully be down to what I was by next Monday. Why is it so hard to lose the weight and so very easy to gain....this sucks!!!! My goals this week are to stay on track with WW's work out on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, and not get derailed by all the Valentines Day crap at work. *****baby steps*****

Week 5-Amy

Pretty Good week. Down 1.5 pounds. Tuesday was my swimming lesson, and despite having to be seen in public in my swimming suit all went well. I was surprised of what a great full body work out it was. That day I was definately feeling it in my shoulders, which I expected, however, what I did not expect was to feel my abs sore. That was a great surprise!!! I am really excited for my next 3 lessons. Well atleast by the END of swimming season I should be half way decent in a suit.

I recieved my body bugg in the mail this week. I started to wear it on Thursday. It was quite interesting. When you start the software, you answer all the interview questions, such as your current stats then your goals. Then through the day you enter in your meals, just as if you were doing weight watchers online. At the end of the day, you hook your body bugg up and download the information. And there is a little graph that shows all the calories you burned. I didn't know that I burn 1.2-1.5 calories an hour while I sleep. You see the ups and downs through out your day. And if you take off your body bugg during the day (swimming or taking a shower ect) you just input what type of activity you were doing. Active activity (swimming) or Regular activity(showering). And then it takes information from your previous numbers. My goal is to loose 2 the program says that i should be eating 1850 calories, therefore I need to burn 2850 calories. So far, with working out an hour a day, and with my regular activity, it seems to give me enough of a calorie burn that I need. Now saturday was an interesting day. I had a booth at a Private School open house, and then I came home and did yard work. I was kind of worried because I didn't have enough time to go to the gym and in the evening I was tired I really didn't want to get on the treadmill, so I downloaded the information to see where I was. Because of all the activity during the Open House, and working outside, plus I didn't eat as much because I was busy running around, I actually had burned enough calories for the day!!! Yeah, I didn't have to jump on the treadmill!!! So having this body bugg is really interesting to have. And when Bob and Jillian ask the contestants if they are getting their "burn" I get what they are saying now!

Sorry for the long post. I hope everyone is having a great week!!! Keep up the good work!

No more denial much more sacrifice

This week I lost one pound and only exercised twice. Over the weekend I hurt my arm, so I have been taking it easy. Eli was going to start p90x this week, but he injured his hand and caught a cold and was unable to start. I might try to do some of the workouts (They are not meant for beginners or those who are pathetically out of shape like me). I might only be able to do portions of the workouts, but I need a change from my usual pilates videos. Eli plans on doing the p90x diet as well which will take a lot of sacrifice on his part. He has vowed to follow the diet exactly including giving up coke for skim milk and eating arugula which is disgusting to him. I think I need to sacrifice a bit more of the things I love in order to get the results I want. So far, I have been taking it easy and not sacrificing enough and that is why I am down only 2lbs in an entire month. This week I realized I am still in denial about my weight. I went to get some new clothes and seeing myself in the full length mirror was a definite eye opener. February is a tough month with the superbowl, valentines day and I also have two of my kids birthdays this month. I have got to stop making concessions for things that come up because there are always too many good reasons to cheat.
